Alicia is a Mitigation Specialist at YSRP, where they work directly with young people facing charges in the adult legal system, as well as their families and community members. Alicia gets to know our client-partners – their histories, strengths, and goals – and works with attorneys to obtain the best legal outcome possible. Alicia brings 6 years of experience in the mitigation and legal defense field and is passionate about supporting people who are facing the trauma and dehumanization of legal system involvement.

Before joining YSRP, Alicia worked with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, providing mitigation for adults with serious mental illness. Their work is rooted in a commitment to providing healing and empowerment to people ensnared in the legal system, while working to dismantle systems of oppression.

Alicia holds a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania. In their spare time, they enjoy hiking, reading, and spending time with their cats, Lamar and Mochi. They believe in the transformative power of healing and community-building, and that a better world is possible.
