Kat is the Director of Reentry at YSRP, and is responsible for overseeing reentry at YSRP and representing YSRP in the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania reentry ecosystems, while also providing holistic reentry case management for youth being charged as adults in the criminal legal system. Kat has a background in social work and community organizing and is passionate about building toward a world without cages and with abundant resources so that we all may thrive. Kat's favorite part of her job is building relationships with client partners.
Prior to joining YSRP, Kat was an Environmental Justice Organizer here in Philadelphia and in Pittsburgh, and has also worked as a housing case manager at an emergency shelter.
Kat earned her Master of Social Work degree with a certificate in Human Services Management from the University of Pittsburgh and her Bachelor's in Political Science from the University of Rochester, where she currently sits on the Capstone Committee for the Certificate in Community-Engaged Learning. Outside of YSRP, Kat is the frontwoman and bassist for a local garage rock band and can be found scrambling up rocks in national and state parks all over the Northeast (when she’s not shopping at her favorite vintage stores in Queen Village).
