Margot is the Policy Director at YSRP, where she leads policy and legislative strategy and coordinates with partners toward our policy goals of ending the charging of children as if they were adults, and improving the conditions for kids caught up in the system. Margot brings 10 years of experience in legislative strategy and youth justice campaigns, and is passionate about using policy as a tool for liberation.

Before joining YSRP, Margot worked with the Crime and Justice Institute, focusing on juvenile justice policy reform and collateral consequences of criminal convictions, leading campaigns around the country. Her background includes nonprofit evaluation and international development work, and she started her career as an aide in the Massachusetts State House. 

Margot holds a Master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University. She lives in a creaky old house in West Philly with her husband and three kids. Outside of work, she enjoys running very slowly and building community very locally, and believes deeply that another world is possible.
